About Anglers Reach
Anglers Reach is a small lakeside locality in the Snowy Monaro Regional Council area of New South Wales, nestled on the northern shores of Lake Eucumbene at an elevation of approximately 1,189 metres. With a population of 78 residents and covering around 11 square kilometres, it sits within the Snowy Mountains region, roughly 160 kilometres south-west of Canberra and 15 kilometres north of Adaminaby. Anglers Reach is renowned as one of the premier trout and salmon fishing destinations in Australia, with Lake Eucumbene — the largest reservoir in the Snowy Hydro Scheme — providing exceptional year-round angling. The locality also offers access to boating, kayaking, and canoeing on the lake, along with nearby walking trails in and around Kosciuszko National Park. Skiers and snowboarders are well-placed for day trips to Perisher and Thredbo, making Anglers Reach a popular four-season destination for outdoor enthusiasts.
