About Balldale

Balldale is a small historic village in the mid-southern Riverina region of New South Wales, situated approximately 15 kilometres north-east of Corowa and 50 kilometres from Albury. With a population of around 168 at the 2021 census, the village retains a tight-knit agricultural community character. Balldale was established in the early 1900s following the subdivision of the large Quat Quatta Estate and was named in honour of local politician Richard Ball.

The village features the iconic Balldale Hotel, built in 1905, which serves as the social hub for locals and passing travellers alike. Surrounding farmland supports grain and livestock agriculture, and the community has a proud football history through the Balldale Football Club. For broader services, residents travel to nearby Corowa or Albury, which offer supermarkets, hospitals, and schools.

Balldale falls under postcode 2646 and is governed by the local council Council (LGA). For state elections, residents vote in the Murray electorate.
