Bar Point is a tiny isolated locality on the Central Coast of New South Wales, situated on the western shore of Broken Bay approximately 53 kilometres north of Sydney and 23 kilometres west of Gosford. The locality covers 10 square kilometres at an elevation of 19 metres and recorded a population of 122 at the 2021 census, making it one of the region's most remote and least-accessible waterfront settlements. Bar Point is largely surrounded by the Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park and is effectively bounded by the Hawkesbury River and its tributaries on three sides, making water access the primary means of reaching most parts of the locality. Cowan railway station lies in the adjacent locality to the west, providing a rare land-based transport connection for some residents.
