Barmedman is a small rural township in the Riverina region of New South Wales, located approximately 36 kilometres north-west of Temora and 490 kilometres south-west of Sydney. The town sits within the Cootamundra-Gundagai Regional Council area and had a population of around 200 at the 2021 Census, making it one of the smaller rural communities in the Riverina. Barmedman's name is derived from an Aboriginal word, and the town was established in the late 19th century with a railway connection to Temora opening in 1903. Today, the local district retains an agricultural economic base focused on wheat and canola cropping and sheep grazing.
