Bedourie is an outback locality and the administrative centre of the Shire of Diamantina, situated in far south-west Queensland approximately 1,668 kilometres west-north-west of Brisbane. It covers an extraordinary 36,117 square kilometres — one of the largest local government shires in Queensland — and sits at an elevation of 90 metres on the Channel Country plains.
