About Browns Plains

Browns Plains is a suburban locality in the City of Logan, Queensland, situated about 25 kilometres south of Brisbane CBD. With a population of approximately 6,600 people, it is one of the more substantial suburbs in outer south-east Brisbane. The area grew rapidly from the 1980s onwards as suburban development pushed south along the Mount Lindesay Highway corridor.

The suburb is anchored by Grand Plaza Shopping Centre, one of Logan's major retail destinations, offering a wide range of stores, supermarkets, and dining options. Browns Plains Road and the Mount Lindesay Highway provide arterial connections to Brisbane and the Gold Coast. The suburb attracts families drawn to relatively affordable housing, good schools, and improving amenities, and is served by frequent bus routes linking to Loganlea and Logan Central train stations.

Browns Plains falls under postcode 4118 and is governed by Logan Council (LGA). For state elections, residents vote in the Woodridge electorate.
