Burrinjuck is a small rural locality in the Yass Valley region of New South Wales, situated on the headwaters of the Murrumbidgee River approximately 60 km south-west of the Yass township and 80 km north-west of Canberra. The area is dominated by the Burrinjuck Dam and Reservoir — a major water storage facility — surrounded by hilly grazing country and national park. With a population of around 40 residents, it is a quiet and remote community known primarily for recreational water activities.
Burrinjuck Dam is a significant regional drawcard, attracting visitors for boating, water-skiing, fishing and camping. The Burrinjuck Waters State Park borders the reservoir, offering scenic bush camping and wildlife encounters.
