About Carlotta
Carlotta is a sparsely populated rural locality in the Shire of Nannup, nestled within the tall timber country of Western Australia's South West region. With just 103 residents across a vast 364 square kilometres, the locality is dominated by state forest, national parks, and the towering karri and marri trees that define this corner of the state. The Vasse Highway runs through the centre of Carlotta, connecting it to the nearby town of Nannup, approximately 10 kilometres to the north.
The landscape around Carlotta is characterised by dense native forest, with the Easter National Park along the eastern side of the Vasse Highway and the Milyeannup National Park covering the south-western portion of the locality. The area is popular with nature enthusiasts, bushwalkers, and those seeking a self-sufficient rural lifestyle surrounded by some of Western Australia's most magnificent old-growth forest. Nannup, on the Blackwood River, serves as the nearest town for shopping, schooling, and community services, while the coastal town of Augusta and the tourist hub of Margaret River are within an hour's drive.
Carlotta falls under postcode 6275 and is governed by the local council Council (LGA). For state elections, residents vote in the Warren-Blackwood (South West) electorate.
