About Castlecrag

Castlecrag is an affluent harbourside suburb on Sydney's Lower North Shore, located approximately 9 kilometres north of the CBD within the Willoughby local government area. With a population of around 2,965, it is one of Sydney's most exclusive residential enclaves, built on a scenic peninsula surrounded by Middle Harbour. The suburb was masterplanned by American architects Walter Burley Griffin and Marion Mahony Griffin in the 1920s, and many original Griffin-designed homes remain heritage-listed today.

Castlecrag offers a tranquil, leafy lifestyle with abundant bushland reserves, waterfront walking tracks, and direct access to Middle Harbour kayaking and sailing. The Edinburgh Road village provides local cafés, a supermarket, and specialty shops. The suburb attracts high-income professionals and established families who value privacy, architectural heritage, and natural beauty. While car-dependent, buses connect to Chatswood and the city, and the suburb is within easy driving distance of major shopping and dining precincts.

Castlecrag falls under postcode 2068 and is governed by Willoughby Council (LGA). For state elections, residents vote in the Willoughby electorate.
