Croppa Creek is a small village and rural locality in the Gwydir Shire of north-western New South Wales, situated approximately 71 kilometres north of Moree on the Newell Highway corridor. The locality had a population of 104 at the 2021 Census, spread across nearly 397 square kilometres of flat to gently undulating farming country. Croppa Creek sits within the traditional country of the Gamilaraay people and developed as a railhead following the opening of the Boggabilla branch line in 1932, which stimulated a shift from grazing to cropping in the district. The village remains a significant grain handling point, with GrainCorp operating a wheat silo serving the surrounding agricultural properties.

The local economy is driven by broadacre cropping, with wheat, barley, sorghum, and cotton the dominant crops, alongside sheep and cattle grazing on the vast properties that characterise the region. The nearby Myola feedlot, capable of handling 20,000 head of cattle, is one of the larger pastoral operations in the area. Moree, the closest major service centre, provides hospitals, high schools, supermarkets, and other urban amenities, including the famous Moree artesian bore baths. There is no regular public transport service to Croppa Creek, making a private vehicle essential; the Newell Highway connects the locality to Moree to the south and to the Queensland border to the north.

Croppa Creek falls under postcode 2411 and is governed by the local council Council (LGA). For state elections, residents vote in the Northern Tablelands electorate.
