About Denicull Creek
Denicull Creek is a rural locality in the Northern Grampians Shire of western Victoria, situated in the foothills and pastoral land between Stawell and Ararat. The locality takes its name from the local creek that flows through the area, draining into the broader Grampians catchment. It is very sparsely populated, with the land used predominantly for sheep and cattle grazing on the gently undulating hills characteristic of the Grampians foothills. The Grampians (Gariwerd) National Park is within close reach, providing a dramatic sandstone backdrop to the west.
Denicull Creek residents rely on the town of Stawell, approximately 20 kilometres to the north, for schools, supermarkets, medical services and the nearest railway station. The Northern Grampians Shire is known for gold-mining history, grape growing and tourism centred on the Grampians National Park. The area offers excellent outdoor recreation including hiking in Gariwerd, cycling the rail trails and rock climbing. Affordable land and a quiet rural lifestyle attract hobby farmers and those seeking a peaceful base within commuting range of Stawell or Ararat.
Denicull Creek falls under postcode 3377 and is governed by the local council Council (LGA). For state elections, residents vote in the Ripon (Western Victoria) electorate.
