About Duingal
Duingal is a sparsely populated rural locality in the Bundaberg Region of Queensland, situated approximately 59 kilometres south-west of Bundaberg CBD and 18 kilometres south of Gin Gin. The Burnett River forms the northern boundary of the locality, and the eastern section falls within protected areas of Cordalba National Park. With a population of just 70 residents recorded at the 2021 census, Duingal is one of the more remote corners of the Wide Bay–Burnett region. The locality covers roughly 123 square kilometres of Queensland agricultural land.
Duingal is quintessential rural Queensland — wide open grazing country with a close-knit community of farming families. The nearest town services are found in Gin Gin to the north, which provides a general store, hotel, school and basic medical services. Bundaberg, around an hour's drive away, offers the full range of regional amenities including hospitals, shops and the Bruce Highway connection. The area suits those who value a quiet rural lifestyle, self-sufficiency and the natural beauty of the Burnett River corridor.
Duingal falls under postcode 4671 and is governed by the local council Council (LGA). For state elections, residents vote in the Callide electorate.
