About Eneabba
Eneabba is a small remote town on the Brand Highway in Western Australia, located approximately 278 kilometres north of Perth within the Shire of Carnamah. Established in 1961 on land historically inhabited by the Yamatji people, the town's name derives from the local Aboriginal word for 'ground spring'. With a population of 142 at the 2021 Census and a locality area of over 1,400 square kilometres, Eneabba is a resource and agricultural service community set within a vast expanse of sandplain scrub and farmland.
Eneabba is perhaps best known for its world-class mineral sands operations run by Iluka Resources, which mine zircon, titanium dioxide, and rare earth minerals from the surrounding sandplain — resources of growing global significance. Each spring, the area transforms into a spectacular wildflower destination, with the Eneabba sandplain region producing some of Western Australia's most diverse and colourful native wildflower displays. The nearby Warradarge Wind Farm, operational since 2020, is a prominent feature of the landscape, while the Eneabba Sands Tavern serves as the social hub for this tight-knit outback community.
Eneabba falls under postcode 6518 and is governed by the local council Council (LGA). For state elections, residents vote in the Moore (Agricultural) electorate.
