Evanston is a suburb located on the southern edge of the town of Gawler, approximately 40 kilometres north of Adelaide CBD in South Australia. With a population of around 2,580 (2021 census), it falls within the Town of Gawler local government area. Originally named Evans Town after the wife of land speculator James Philcox, the suburb has roots dating back to the 1850s. The traditional custodians of the land are the Kaurna people of the Adelaide Plains.
