Gunbower is a small rural town in northern Victoria, located in the Shire of Campaspe approximately 272 kilometres north of Melbourne, 42 kilometres north-west of Echuca, and 23 kilometres south-east of Cohuna. The town sits on the banks of Gunbower Creek and recorded a population of 578 at the 2021 Census. Surrounded by productive farmland and waterways characteristic of the Murray–Darling Basin, Gunbower has a relaxed rural character typical of the Riverina fringe.
Gunbower is home to the Gunbower Racing Club, which hosts the annual Gunbower Cup meeting each October — a beloved local tradition that draws visitors from across the region.
