Illinbah is a small rural locality in the Scenic Rim Region of Queensland, nestled in the hinterland approximately 89.7 kilometres south of Brisbane CBD and 38.9 kilometres south-west of Southport on the Gold Coast. The locality covers 19.4 square kilometres of lush subtropical mountain country on the edge of the Lamington National Park World Heritage Area, part of the Gondwana Rainforests of Australia. The 2021 census recorded 128 residents, a close-knit community of farming families, conservation custodians and nature-based lifestyle seekers. The area's forests and elevated terrain contribute to the region's exceptional biodiversity and scenic landscape.
Illinbah's greatest attraction is its proximity to Lamington National Park, one of Queensland's premier wilderness destinations, renowned for its ancient Antarctic beech forests, waterfalls, abundant birdlife and well-maintained bushwalking trails leading to Green Mountains (O'Reilly's) and Binna Burra.
