Ingebirah is a sparsely populated mountain locality in the Snowy Monaro Regional Council area of New South Wales, situated approximately 25 kilometres south of Jindabyne in the Snowy Mountains. Covering 256 square kilometres of rugged alpine bushland, the locality had a population of just 93 at the 2021 Census. With a postcode median taxable income of $45,379, the area is home to a small community of rural landholders living among the foothills of the Snowy Mountains.
Ingebirah adjoins Kosciuszko National Park and is best known for the Snowy Wilderness resort, which offers horse riding, self-contained cottages, and access to over 7,500 acres of alpine bushland. The locality's elevated terrain and proximity to both Jindabyne and the ski fields make it a gateway to winter sports and summer bushwalking. Residents rely on Jindabyne for shopping, schools, and services, while the regional centre of Cooma is approximately 60 kilometres to the east.
