Limbri has a long pastoral history, with sheep and cattle grazing forming the backbone of the local economy for well over a century. The original public school, which opened in 1900 to serve surrounding grazing families and celebrated its centenary, has since closed, as has the former general store, leaving a small but active Landcare community maintaining the area's rural character. Residents travel to Tamworth or Moonbi for everyday services, schools, and shopping, while the rolling countryside and Swamp Oak Creek corridor provide a scenic and peaceful setting for those who value a quiet life on the land.
