About Mangoplah
Mangoplah is a small rural locality approximately 36 kilometres south of Wagga Wagga in New South Wales' Riverina region, within the Wagga Wagga City Council local government area. With a population of 291, the community centres on a compact township set across a large agricultural area of around 220 square kilometres. The locality was formerly part of the Shire of Kyeamba before its amalgamation with Wagga Wagga City Council in 1981, and retains a strong farming and pastoral character.
Despite its small size, Mangoplah has a surprisingly active community life, anchored by a pub, general store, two churches, a community hall, and a recreation reserve used by the local football and netball club. The surrounding landscape is dominated by sheep and grain farms typical of the Riverina, and residents enjoy a quiet, close-knit rural lifestyle. Wagga Wagga's full range of services — including hospitals, schools, and shopping — is a straightforward 40-minute drive north.
Mangoplah falls under postcode 2652 and is governed by the local council Council (LGA). For state elections, residents vote in the Wagga Wagga electorate.
