Mannus is a rural locality in the Snowy Valleys region of New South Wales, situated approximately 12 kilometres north of Tumbarumba in the western foothills of the Snowy Mountains. Covering nearly 98 square kilometres, the area is largely characterised by cleared grazing land, timber production, and the Mannus Correctional Centre, which accounts for the locality's notably male-skewed population of around 225 residents. The locality lies within the Snowy Valleys Council area and is accessed via the Tumbarumba-Rosewood Road.

Outside the correctional facility, Mannus is surrounded by productive agricultural land and is positioned close to the Bago State Forest and the broader Snowy Mountains region. Tumbarumba, the nearest town approximately 12 km to the south, offers essential services including shops, schools, and medical facilities. The wider Snowy Valleys area is prized for cool-climate wine production, trout fishing, and access to the Kosciuszko National Park, making it attractive to rural lifestyle seekers.
