Moe is a town in the Latrobe Valley in the Gippsland region of Victoria, located approximately 130 kilometres east of Melbourne. With a population of around 9,375 (2021 census), it serves as a key service centre for the surrounding Baw Baw Shire. The town has a working-class character with 61% owner-occupied homes, and residents predominantly work in trades occupations. Its name derives from a Kurnai Indigenous word meaning "swamp".
