About Mount Jagged
Mount Jagged is a small rural locality on South Australia's Fleurieu Peninsula, situated approximately 55 kilometres south of Adelaide and spanning both the Alexandrina Council and City of Victor Harbor local government areas. Covering around 40 square kilometres of undulating Fleurieu countryside, the locality was established in 1998 and recorded a population of 155 people in the 2021 Census. The area takes its name from the distinctive rocky ridgeline of Mount Jagged, part of the Hindmarsh County, and is surrounded by the scenic rural landscapes the Fleurieu Peninsula is famous for.
Mount Jagged is located approximately 15 kilometres north of Victor Harbor and 16 kilometres north-west of Goolwa, placing it within easy reach of the southern Fleurieu coast's beaches, estuary, and regional amenities. Victor Harbor provides schooling, shopping, and community services, while the broader region offers excellent access to the Coorong, the Encounter Bay coastline, and the Hindmarsh Island area. The locality appeals to those seeking a quiet rural lifestyle on the Fleurieu Peninsula with the Southern Ocean not far away, and Adelaide accessible within an hour's drive.
