Niemur is a small rural locality in the Riverina Murray region of southwestern New South Wales, situated near the confluence of the Niemur River and the Murray River system, close to the town of Moulamein. With a population of approximately 74 people spread across 270 square kilometres, it is one of the most sparsely settled localities in the region. The landscape is characterised by flat, productive agricultural land, river red gum forests along the Murray, and expansive irrigation and dryland farming properties. Niemur falls within the Edward River Council local government area.
