About Norah Head

Norah Head is a coastal suburb on the Central Coast of New South Wales, situated approximately 18 kilometres east of Wyong and 112 kilometres north-northeast of Sydney. With a population of 1,149 at the 2021 census, it occupies a prominent headland on the Pacific Ocean within the Central Coast Council area. The suburb is best known for the historic Norah Head Lighthouse, built in 1903, which stands on the dramatic rocky headland. Originally known as Bungaree's Norah after the Indigenous explorer Bungaree.

Norah Head offers a stunning coastal lifestyle centred on its iconic lighthouse, rockpools, and surf beaches. The headland provides spectacular ocean views and whale watching during migration season, while Soldiers Beach and Cabbage Tree Harbour are popular for swimming and fishing. The suburb has a relaxed, holiday-village atmosphere with a small selection of local shops and cafés.
