Palmerston City is a compact inner suburb of Palmerston, a satellite city located approximately 20 kilometres south-east of Darwin in the Northern Territory. Covering less than one square kilometre, Palmerston City functions as the civic and commercial heart of the broader Palmerston urban area, which has grown rapidly since its establishment in the 1980s to become the NT's second-largest city. With a 2021 Census population of 194, the suburb itself is small but forms the administrative core of a city of more than 40,000 people.
