Pemberton is a charming timber and tourist town in the South West region of Western Australia, situated approximately 335 kilometres south of Perth within the Shire of Manjimup. Covering an area of 17.2 square kilometres at an elevation of 174 metres, the town had a population of around 617 people at the 2021 Census. Pemberton lies at the heart of the tall timber country, surrounded by magnificent karri forests, and serves as the main service centre for the surrounding rural and forestry community.
Pemberton is one of Western Australia's most popular tourist destinations, renowned for its towering karri trees — among the tallest hardwood trees in the world — and adventure experiences such as climbing the Gloucester Tree fire lookout.
