About Pitt Town

Pitt Town is a historic suburb in north-western Sydney, located 59 km from the Sydney CBD within the City of Hawkesbury local government area. Established in 1810, it is one of the five Macquarie Towns founded by Governor Lachlan Macquarie. The suburb has a population of around 3,900 and sits at a low elevation of 17 metres, bounded to the north by the Hawkesbury River.

Pitt Town blends its rich colonial heritage with modern residential development, including the Pitt Town housing estate which has brought significant growth. The suburb offers a semi-rural lifestyle with local shops, a historic village centre, and proximity to the scenic Hawkesbury River for recreational activities. It appeals to families seeking larger blocks and a quieter pace while maintaining access to greater Sydney via Windsor and the M2/M7 motorway network.

Pitt Town falls under postcode 2756 and is governed by Hawkesbury Council (LGA). For state elections, residents vote in the Hawkesbury electorate.
