Redgate is a small coastal locality in the South West region of Western Australia, situated within the Shire of Augusta-Margaret River approximately 14 kilometres south of the town of Margaret River and around 280 kilometres south of Perth. With a population of 98 at the 2021 Census across 24 square kilometres, Redgate is a quiet, nature-focused community set between towering karri and jarrah forest and the rugged Indian Ocean coastline. The locality sits within one of Australia's most celebrated wine regions, the Margaret River wine district.
Redgate is best known for Redgate Beach, a dramatic stretch of coastline popular with surfers and beachgoers, and the site of the 1876 SS Georgette shipwreck whose remains lie in shallow water just offshore. Nearby Calgardup Beach and Calgardup Cave add to the area's natural attractions, while the surrounding Leeuwin-Naturaliste National Park offers bushwalking and whale watching in season.
