Salisbury Plains is a large rural locality in the New England region of northern New South Wales, situated approximately 25 kilometres south of Uralla and 40 kilometres south of Armidale. Covering around 236 square kilometres, it lies on the elevated New England Tablelands at altitudes above 1,000 metres, within the Uralla Shire. The locality is named for its resemblance to England's Salisbury Plain, with open, rolling grasslands stretching across the high plateau.
Salisbury Plains is a pastoral district devoted to fine wool sheep and cattle grazing on the rich basalt-derived soils of the New England Tablelands.
