About Skye
Skye is a prestige eastern suburb of Adelaide, South Australia, located in the foothills of the Adelaide Hills within the City of Burnside local government area, approximately 8.6 kilometres east of the Adelaide city centre. Sitting within the Hills Face Zone, Skye is the easternmost locality in the Burnside council area and covers just 1.37 square kilometres. The 2021 Census recorded 293 residents across around 110 dwellings, making it one of Adelaide's most intimate and exclusive hillside communities.
Most streets in Skye enjoy expansive westward views across the Adelaide plains, a feature that drives significant demand for property and reflects the suburb's prestige character. Large-lot homes and quiet, tree-lined streets define the neighbourhood, attracting established families and professionals seeking space and outlook within easy reach of the city. The boutique shops, cafes, and services of Burnside Village are a short drive away, while the scenic walking trails and natural reserves of the Adelaide Hills hinterland begin virtually at the suburb's edge.
Skye falls under postcode 5072 and is governed by the local council Council (LGA). For state elections, residents vote in the Morialta electorate.
