About Templin
Templin is a small rural locality in the Scenic Rim Region of south-east Queensland, situated approximately 67 kilometres south-west of Brisbane and a short drive from the country town of Boonah along Boonah-Fassifern Road. Covering about 12 square kilometres in the Fassifern Valley, the locality recorded a population of 89 residents in the 2021 Census. The area has strong German heritage, having been settled by German immigrants in the nineteenth century, and features gently rolling countryside typical of the Scenic Rim.
Templin is best known for the Templin Historical Village, a heritage precinct set on the grounds of the original 1892 Templin State School at 397 Boonah-Fassifern Road. Managed by the Fassifern District Historical Society, the village features 14 heritage buildings including a country church, dairy, slab hut, and store, as well as one of Queensland's largest textile collections in the House of Fashion. Residents enjoy the peaceful rural setting within easy reach of Boonah's shops, schools, and services, with Brisbane accessible in under 90 minutes.
