The Channon is a small alternative village in the Northern Rivers region of New South Wales, situated about 18 kilometres northwest of Lismore and 21 kilometres from Nimbin in the City of Lismore local government area. With a population of approximately 364, it is set in lush subtropical rainforest hinterland along Terania Creek, and takes its name from the Aboriginal word for the Burrawang palm. The Channon is famous throughout Australia for its monthly Channon Craft Market, one of the longest-running and best-attended craft markets in the country, drawing visitors from across Northern NSW and beyond.
