The Oaks is a semi-rural town in the Macarthur Region of New South Wales, situated 82 kilometres south-west of Sydney within Wollondilly Shire. With a population of around 2,500, the town sits at 290 metres above sea level on the south-western edge of the Sydney Basin. Established in the 1820s, it is one of the oldest settlements in the region with a rich colonial heritage.

Despite its proximity to the expanding Sydney metropolitan area, The Oaks has retained its attractive semi-rural character with a village atmosphere. The town has a small commercial centre with a general store, cafes, and community facilities. Surrounding farmland and proximity to the Blue Mountains National Park make it popular with those seeking a rural lifestyle within commuting distance of Camden and Campbelltown.
