Tolga is a rural town on the Atherton Tableland in Far North Queensland, located 89 kilometres south-west of Cairns at an elevation of 760 metres. The town had a population of 3,177 in the 2021 census and sits within the Tablelands Regional Council. Tolga enjoys a cooler tropical climate compared to coastal Cairns, with average temperatures of 15-26°C and around 1,400mm of annual rainfall.
