Waterloo is a small rural locality in southern Tasmania, situated within the Huon Valley municipality approximately 28 kilometres south-west of Huonville and around 66 kilometres south of Hobart. The locality covers just 6.5 square kilometres along the Huon River estuary, with the Huon Highway (Route A6) passing through from north-west to north-east. The 2021 Census recorded a population of 104, up from 92 in 2016, reflecting modest growth in this peaceful corner of the Huon Valley.
Waterloo offers a tranquil semi-rural lifestyle set against the scenic backdrop of the Huon River estuary and the surrounding hills of southern Tasmania.
