About Willenabrina
Willenabrina is a remote rural locality in the Wimmera region of north-west Victoria, approximately 380 kilometres north-west of Melbourne and 31 kilometres north-west of Warracknabeal in the Yarriambiack Shire. With a population of just 17 people recorded at the 2021 census, it is one of Victoria's smallest localities. The flat, open plains landscape is dominated by broadacre cereal cropping and sheep farming typical of the region.
Originally surveyed as a railway township in the late 1880s following the opening of a post office in 1889, Willenabrina never developed into a substantial settlement after the planned rail extension was redirected away from the township. Today virtually no built infrastructure from its early history remains, and the locality functions as an agricultural land parcel within the broader Wimmera farming district. Residents rely on Warracknabeal and Rainbow for all essential services, shopping, and healthcare.
Willenabrina falls under postcode 3393 and is governed by the local council Council (LGA). For state elections, residents vote in the Mildura (Northern Victoria) electorate.
