About Alice
Alice is a sparsely populated rural locality in the Northern Rivers region of New South Wales, within the Clarence Valley Council area. Situated approximately 22 kilometres south of Tabulam in the upper Clarence Valley, it covers around 13.3 km² of hilly farming and bushland country. With a recorded population of just 4 in the 2021 census, Alice is one of NSW's most remote and lightly settled localities.
The Clarence Valley is known for its rich agricultural land, river systems, and national park corridors, and Alice sits within this scenic hinterland environment. Tabulam to the north is the nearest village, while Grafton (~90 km south-east) serves as the major regional centre for health, retail, and education. The area attracts those seeking rural seclusion, with small farms and hobby properties dotting the landscape.
