About Cainbable
Cainbable is a small rural locality in the Scenic Rim Regional Council area of south-east Queensland, located approximately 15 kilometres south of Beaudesert and around 80 kilometres south of Brisbane. Covering just under 33 square kilometres of hilly valley country adjacent to the McPherson Range, the locality had a 2021 Census population of 85 residents. The landscape features lush green valleys, creek systems, and timbered ridges characteristic of the Scenic Rim, a region of exceptional natural beauty connecting the Gold Coast hinterland with the Gondwana Rainforests.
The locality is closely associated with Cainbable Creek and sits near the northern boundary of Lamington National Park, one of Australia's most significant subtropical rainforest reserves and part of a UNESCO World Heritage Area. The surrounding rural land is used for cattle grazing, small farms, and increasingly lifestyle properties as the Scenic Rim attracts tree-changers from Brisbane and the Gold Coast. Beaudesert is the nearest service town, while Canungra to the north-east offers additional amenities and serves as a gateway to the national park.
Cainbable falls under postcode 4285 and is governed by Scenic Rim Regional Council Council (LGA). For state elections, residents vote in the Scenic Rim electorate.
