The name Cobrico is believed to derive from an Aboriginal word meaning 'camp'. With a 2021 Census population of 72 residents across 37 square kilometres of undulating farmland and state forest, Cobrico is a quiet agricultural community surrounded by rich pastoral country typical of the Corangamite region.
