About Cottonvale
Cottonvale is a small rural locality in Queensland's Southern Downs Region, situated on the Granite Belt about 16 km north of Stanthorpe and just over 200 km southwest of Brisbane. Covering approximately 11 square kilometres directly adjacent to the New South Wales border, the locality recorded a population of 153 in the 2021 census. The elevated setting on the Granite Belt gives the area a cool climate that is distinctly different from the rest of Queensland, supporting apple orchards and cool-climate vineyards.

Cottonvale attracts those who value a cool-climate rural lifestyle, proximity to the region's celebrated wineries and apple farms, and easy access to national parks and the Queensland–New South Wales border ranges.
