Crediton is a small rural locality in the Mackay Region of Queensland, situated approximately 96 kilometres west of Mackay in the hinterland near the Pioneer Valley. With a population of just 109 (2021 Census) spread across a vast 308 square kilometres, it is one of Queensland's most sparsely populated localities. The area lies near the Eungella Range and is close to the Broken River, which runs through the Eungella National Park — a World Heritage listed area famous for platypus sightings.
Crediton is an agricultural and pastoral locality characterised by sugarcane farming, cattle grazing, and tropical horticulture. The landscape transitions from the productive Pioneer Valley floors to the rugged ranges near Eungella.
