Dixalea is a sparsely settled rural locality in the Shire of Banana, Central Queensland, approximately 80 kilometres south-west of Rockhampton. With a population of just 102 at the 2021 Census spread across 229 square kilometres, it is one of the region's quieter localities, characterised by cattle grazing country and open bushland. The Burnett Highway passes through the area, connecting Dixalea to the neighbouring townships of Dululu to the north and Goovigen to the south-west.
The locality is bordered by the Dee River to the north-west and the Don River, which enters from the east. Dixalea is home to McMaster Field, the base of the Central Queensland Gliding Club, which draws aviation enthusiasts to the area.
