About Ebor
Ebor is a small rural village and locality on the New England Tablelands of New South Wales, situated approximately 73 kilometres east of Armidale at an elevation of around 1,100 metres above sea level. With a population of around 149 residents, it is best known as the gateway to the spectacular Ebor Falls on the Guy Fawkes River, one of the most scenic waterfalls in New England. The locality lies within the Armidale Regional Council area and is surrounded by cattle grazing land and cool-climate highland scenery.
Ebor attracts visitors year-round for the Ebor Falls, which drop dramatically over two tiers into the Guy Fawkes River gorge and are accessible via a short walk from the village. The locality has a small community hall, the Ebor Public School, and a hotel that serves as a social hub for surrounding farming families. Residents enjoy a rugged highland lifestyle with cool summers and cold winters, with access to Armidale for shopping, hospital and university services approximately an hour's drive west.
Ebor falls under postcode 2453 and is governed by Guyra - Armidale Regional Council Council (LGA). For state elections, residents vote in the Oxley electorate.
