About Eden

Eden is a historic coastal town on the far South Coast of New South Wales, situated 478 kilometres south of Sydney on the shores of Twofold Bay. With a population of around 3,150, it is the most southerly town in NSW and home to the third-deepest natural harbour in the southern hemisphere. The town has a rich maritime heritage dating back to its whaling industry days.

Eden offers a stunning natural setting with rugged coastline, pristine beaches, and proximity to Ben Boyd National Park. The Eden Killer Whale Museum is a major attraction, telling the remarkable story of killer whales that once assisted local whalers. The town attracts retirees, fishing enthusiasts, and nature lovers, and serves as a port of call for cruise ships visiting Twofold Bay.

Eden falls under postcode 2551 and is governed by Bega Valley Council (LGA). For state elections, residents vote in the Bega electorate.
