About Euramo
Euramo is a small rural locality in Queensland's Cassowary Coast Region, situated approximately 9 kilometres south of Tully and around 147 kilometres south of Cairns, within the Cassowary Coast Regional Council area. With a population of 114 residents across approximately 30 square kilometres, it is a quiet agricultural community set in the lush tropical landscape characteristic of Far North Queensland. The area experiences exceptionally high rainfall typical of the wet tropics zone, contributing to the region's rich agricultural productivity.
Euramo's landscape is defined by sugarcane farming, with historic cane tramway tracks still visible across the locality — a tangible reminder of the region's long agricultural heritage. Residents rely on the nearby town of Tully for schools, shops, hospitals, and everyday services, while Innisfail and Cairns are accessible further north. The surrounding countryside, with its tropical vegetation and proximity to World Heritage-listed Wet Tropics rainforest, gives Euramo a distinctive and naturally beautiful Far North Queensland character.
