About Frenchville

Frenchville is a popular residential suburb of Rockhampton in Central Queensland, situated at the base of Mount Archer in the Berserker Range, about 6 kilometres northeast of the city centre. With a population approaching 9,000, it's one of North Rockhampton's most sought-after suburbs, named after French botanist Anthelme Thozet who established nurseries in the area during the 1860s. The suburb offers modern homes with a backdrop of rugged mountain scenery.

Daily life in Frenchville centres on family and community, with excellent schools including Frenchville State School and North Rockhampton State High nearby. The Dean Street shopping strip provides local retail needs, while the Frenchville Sports Club (now in neighbouring Berserker) is a community institution since 1948. The suburb attracts families and professionals working in Rockhampton's mining, agriculture, and services sectors who appreciate modern housing, good schools, and easy access to Mount Archer's national park trails.

Frenchville falls under postcode 4701 and is governed by Rockhampton Council (LGA). For state elections, residents vote in the Keppel electorate.
