Fullerton is a remote rural locality in the Upper Lachlan Shire of New South Wales's Southern Tablelands, situated approximately 161 kilometres west of Sydney and 123 kilometres north of Canberra at an elevation of 770 metres. The locality covers 204 square kilometres of high-country farming land, with the Abercrombie River defining its north-eastern boundary and the Bolong River its eastern edge. The 2021 census recorded a population of 47, comprising farming families and rural-residential residents on the cool, elevated tablelands between Crookwell and Bathurst. The landscape is characterised by open snow-gum and box woodland, cold winters with occasional snowfall, and productive grazing country for sheep and beef cattle.
Fullerton offers a deeply peaceful high-country farming lifestyle in one of the Southern Tablelands' most scenic and least-populated districts. The historic village of Crookwell (approximately 25 kilometres to the south-east) serves as the local service hub for the area, with its well-regarded cool-climate potato and apple growing industry, boutique accommodation and community facilities. Goulburn (approximately 75 kilometres south-east) is the nearest city with a full range of services, hospital, schools and rail connections to Sydney and Canberra. The locality's elevated position provides spectacular rural scenery and is popular with motorists exploring the Southern Highlands and Southern Tablelands.
