Glenorchy is a small historic town in the Wimmera district of Victoria, located 257 kilometres north-west of Melbourne within the Northern Grampians Shire. Situated on the banks of the Wimmera River, the locality had a population of 131 at the 2021 census. The town was established around the Four Posts Inn in 1847 and surveyed in 1850 by Robert Buchanan, who named it after Glen Orchy in Scotland. Today it remains a quiet rural community surrounded by the broad agricultural plains of western Victoria.
The Wimmera River corridor offers scenic landscapes and occasional fishing opportunities for locals and travellers passing through.
