About Hill River
Hill River is a rural locality in South Australia's Clare Valley wine region, situated within the District Council of Clare and Gilbert Valleys approximately 100 kilometres north of Adelaide. The locality covers around 109 square kilometres of gently undulating agricultural land, and the 2021 census recorded 98 residents. The region is popular for weekend getaways from Adelaide.
