Keera is a small historic locality situated on the upper Gwydir River in the New England region of New South Wales, within the Gwydir Shire. With a population of approximately 45 residents, it has a deep colonial history dating to 1837 when British settlers established cattle stations here on the traditional lands of the Wirraayaraay people. The locality sits at the confluence of the Gwydir River and Keera Creek, with hilly terrain extending south along both watercourses.
